Brand kit & press room.
Assets and guidance for journalists, members, and partners covering the United Earth Commonwealth.
The Commonwealth mark is a bisected orb: emerald upper-left, azure lower-right, divided by a thin white line. Use it at 32 px or larger.
Civic brutalism
The United Earth Commonwealth site is built in a type of digital neo-brutalism we call civic brutalism — also described as registry brutalism. It borrows the heavy borders, flat color fields, and sharp corners of classic brutalism, but replaces the usual startup noise with civic archive language: ledgers, seals, reference marks, and assembly notation.
Color is used as a signal, not a mood: emerald for the commons and land, azure for governance and record, ink and paper for the neutral ground. The result feels more public institution than private product.
Give the mark room to breathe.
Minimum clearspace: Always leave at least 25% of the seal's diameter as open margin on all four sides. The margin is measured from the outer edge of the orb, not the bounding box.
No overlap: Never place text, icons, patterns, photography, or other marks inside the clearspace. Do not let the seal overlap other elements, and do not let other elements overlap the seal.
No text lockups: Do not pair the seal with wordmarks, slogans, or captions inside its protected zone. The mark should stand alone.
Minimum size: Use the seal at 32 px or larger in digital contexts. At small sizes, the 25% margin rule still applies — if space is tight, use a smaller seal rather than crowding it.
Proportion: Do not stretch, rotate, recolor, or add effects to the seal. Keep the emerald/azure bisection and the white dividing line exactly as provided.
